I’m in the middle of watching a documentary called ‘Helvetica’ that I thought if you haven’t watched it already, you might be interested in looking into. It’s currently in the Netflix ‘play instantly’ queue. Meaning, if you get Netflix, you’ll be able to stream it online from their site which is what i’m doing right now. It’s about the history of typography and the progression of font usage from the sort of ‘hodge podge’ styles of the 50s to the clean and streamlined Helvetica, to then in recent years, another progression away from that. I’m a web designer but have dabbled in print marketing and i’m finding the history of design and the insight from different graphic designers interviewed pretty interesting.
